Discus in a larger tank. they look great in a planted tank.
domestic(tank raised) can live in much higher pH(normal pH ranges are fine) I have seen them in soft and hardwater..mine are in pH 7.2 and one pair is even spawning,,with eggs that get to freeswimmer(before they are consumed)
