I am about to run out to the store to get some flourish excel by seachem for my plants.

When I called to make sure they had it, the guy said they had several kinds, regular, one with iron etc.

Which one would I need? I have mainly low light plants.

Also - do I need to pick up any "fert tabs" or anything while I am there, if so what brand? Or will the flourish be enough?

Thanks!

Well, as i understand it, Flourish excel is basically liquid carbon. Flourish without a "subtitle" is a basic trace elements compound. There are also individual elements Flourish, such as Potassium, Iron, Phosphate, etc. for tailored dosing.
I'd try just the plain Flourish to start, and see if your plants respond.

What species of plants do you have? If there are any heavy root feeders, I would recommend the flourish root tabs. Low light plants aren't very demanding. I'd say just the Excel for a little extra carbon would probably work

if you have low light then as stated above you can try out regular flourish which contains all traces. Though you can pick up NPK and Iron and dose that in small dosages following the seachem flourish dosing chart. It would be pointless for you to follow the directions on the bottle since you might have plants such as anubias/ferns that wont use up the fertilizer as quickly.
