I'm looking for a good and reliable book that is about keeping a saltwater aquarium. I want to make sure that I understand as much as possible before I go out and purchase anything.

I think the best book for a Marine beginner and even those much more experienced is Bob Fenner's "The Conscientious Marine Aqaurist".

I have been in the hobby for 4 years and just started reading this book a few days ago and find it to be an excellent read. Well worth the $35.

What about "Saltwater Aquariums for Dummies"? Would that be a good book to read for a beginner like myself?

Its not a bad book to get, if yours is the same as what we have here in the UK....Its actually had some good reviews here...

However, you cant beat " Bob Fenner's "The Conscientious Marine Aqaurist "....

Yes yes yes, i know its a plug, but, its a great book for any aquarist to have... ;)

I'm not a huge fan of it. I think it's way too general. I read that when I first started and I cringe at the things I did because the book had it in there as being appropriate and good husbandry.
