What is an acceptable Nitrate range to have

Also just because your nitrates are safe that doesn't mean you shouldn't do a water change. I like to change at least 20% of my water weekly no matter what.

Ya i will be doing another one today.. i just wanted to make sure they were not getting into a dangerous range within a week.. i was afraid i may have stocked my tank a little to fast putting in 3 silver dollars, bala shark within 2 weeks.. I have not seen any ammonia spikes and the nirtrats are staying low so i guess i am ok.. i put them in about 3.5 weeks ago.

I just put in some new fish in my tank a couple of weeks ago. They are really shy but I think that they are still not used to the tank. My fish usually only take 2 weeks to get used to the tank and it has been 2.5 weeks. How long does it usually take your fish to get used to the tank after you put them in it?

the smaller silver dollars are very active and did not take them any time.. the bala shark has just now come out of his corner and started swimming with the other fish.. so that took about 3 weeks.. my large silver dollar i bought about 2 months ago still will not come out in the open when anyone is in the room unless he is getting food.. not sure why he is so scared as he is 5x larger then any other fish in the tank.
