What is going on with my betta?

Have to agree with the above posts. The temp is to high for him and the tank to small. Take the temp down a couple degrees that will help some, but I'm afraid until you can get a bigger tank for him he really is going to stay depressed and un betta like.

Would it be possible to spend $15? I bought a 5.5 gallon glass tank (tank only, not a kit) brand new at the LFS for $13.99. Thrift stores will sometimes have them for a couple bucks too or garage sales or Craigslist. It surprised me how much more active my betta is since I've upgraded from a 2.5g to a 5.5g (actual water amounts were more like 2 gallons and 3.5-4 gallons due to displacement from substrate/decor).
