What is growing in my substrate?

Hello again-

I have tried to ID these little white branch-like things that are now growing rapidly in my deep sand bed. They are almost transparent and soft, about 1" long. Can anyone tell me what this is? Are they easy to get rid of and can they cause any damage?

My params are good- amonia and -ites zero, -ates around 20. Phasphates are very low.

My first thoughts were tube worm tubes..The harder calcareous versions...
