Ok,

This is a hitchiker. It appears to be a snail/clam of some sort.

It looks like a clam only it has one 1/2 of a shell and it ointed in the center. The snail part of it is just that. It moves over the rocks (ever so slowly) like a snail. I have posted a picture (titled "what is it") to try & help identify it.

I am also posting pictures of my tank for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks in advance.

It's a limpet, hard to say exactly which . Most of these guys are great little critters to have they eat algae and reproduce in your tank. Good find and really nice tank!

Ooh! Viewing pleasure! :D

Yep, definitely a keyhole limpet. They are less picky that other snails about food, and will consume algae, sponges, tunicates, and have been known to nibble soft corals. In small numbers are generally a good thing.

Thanks guys.

Very helpful. From what I was able to get from the net, it appears that it is a listers Keyhole Limpet. I am going to have to watch it around my soft corals.

Does anyone know how to post pictures directly in your post and not as a link.
My pictures are much nicer if don't have to re-size them.
