I have 10 in a 24" deep tank. Every now and then, I'll see them make their way to the top of the tank and almost jump out and then swim quickly back down. I've never owned these cool little fish, and I gotta admit that its tripping me out.

Is it a sign of stress? Kinda looks like they're taking a gulp or air.

Totally normal behaivior. They are a blast!

 had me nervous...

I thought they stayed on the bottom. I frequently see mine swimming mid tank.

I worried too when I first saw it. lol I believe I read that it's because they are used (in the wild) to low O2 conditions and therefore have developed taking occasional gulps of air.... but don't quote me.

heh heh...good to know. I can hear em' popping up when the lights are off.

yeah thats totally normal :)

What kind of cory are they?

2 bronze/4 panda/4 "spotted". The pandas are on the smallish side(1"), while the largest of the spotted is around 2+".

Sounds normal to me...
