What is the best fish to breed for feeders?

id say get a 30long instead of a standard 30 and than you could split it into several areas using eggcrate with aluminum mesh strapped to it. than you could easily fit 3 or 4 pairs and have a constant supply of fry. dont put down a substrate and have some intense filtration and i think youd be fine.

dont feed him everyday. i feed mine once every 3days or so because mine makes ALOT of waste.

austinpetemo... i just got the tank and its actually a 39 gallon... but otherwise what you are saying is to leave out any substrate in this tank and seperate them. I have an Aquaclear 110 filter that I'm not using... would this be sufficient?

And how long after they have their babies will they be big enough to feed to my clown knife? He's an easy 8-9" long right now.

rosey reds for sure...
