Premium aquatics usually has great rock - give them an email to ask them how the current stock is, and they'll be honest with you. They actually talked me out of buying a more expensive rock in favor of the figi. I'm very happy with mine, and I've heard good reviews from other folks too.
I would love it if I had that option, but nno LFS around here that I have been able to find carry any live rock. Besides petco and that rock is crap. and for $9.99 for a tiny baseball sized piece . . . no.
If you are starting a new tank, then go with something with plenty of life and it will speed up the nitrogen cycling due to some die off. Plus, when you don't cure it yourself, you keep more life on the rock. Other than that it's preference. I got mine off Drs. Foster Smith and it came with 5 different color coralline(which may or may not maintain due to lighting), and many small pieces of sponge and coral.
