What is the most desired/rare cichlid of them all??

Surely the rarest most elusive and in-demand is the Mbuna Poo-eating cichlid... you know, the fish that is supposed to live by cleaning the other fishes poo out your tank.

I would guess the blind white cichlid from the congo river would be the rarest.
Since it lives at such depths it has never been caught alive. It would get the bends and die. I saw it on a National Geographic special Monster Fish of the Congo.

I would have to go with the Electric Blue Jack Dempsey, they are beautiful fish

I have 2 of these bad boys........... great fish

Some flowerhorns are sold in the thousands of dollars..me, I would love to have frontosas.
I am a Frontosa guy as well. Nothing as stunning as a large colony of fronts.

They are not "rare" but my favorites are flowerhorns and blood parrot cichlids. Obviously, I do not dislike hybrids :)

For me it's got to be some of the smaller shellies, great color + personality in such a small package. If I had a bigger tank (a 125 would be super), than I'd love to get a nice school of eartheaters.
