What Is the smallest freshwater fish for the temp range of 75-86f

If you want something smaller than a neon that still looks cool you could get a group of spotted rasbora. I like the start stop way they swim and they stay small.

Least Killifish and Adonis Tetras are the smallest fish you're likely to see in the trade at this time.

I vote for Endler's Livebearers, not as the smallest, but as pretty darn small. Raise 'em in a separate tank, which is easy as pie, and feed the juveniles to the angels. Even the adult males are small enough for a biggish angelfish to eat up.

I give my extras to a friend who has angelfish and they love 'em!

Plus they're pretty!

Id say the smallest fish you could find in the hobby right now are a few barbs and rasboras. IE chili rasboras, cherry spot rasbora etc.

But probably not what you are looking for.

Least killies (actually livebearers) are a good choice for feeder-breeders. A small heavily planted tank will produce plenty. Mosquitofish young are fine, but don't keep adults in the tank with your angels- they are vicious fin-nippers.

Just as an aside- you guys whose pet shops carry rosies smaller than guppies are getting the short end of the stick. Adult rosies are 3" or more, and most petstores in my area stock 1-2" long juveniles.

just a FYI,
if you have angels in a nicely planted tank with vertical structure.. you can watch how they hunt.. they are ambush predators..they are not built for speed but they hide well in vertical structure.
they simply wait for for the food to swim by and with a short strike eat it.
they do move from spot to spot tho.

crippled fish would be prime food for their diet.

I don't like the idea of neons as feeder fish personally considering the majority of them are harvested from the wild.

Why not breed your own guppies for the angels to eat. The juveniles of all fish are small and guppies breed so rediculously fast and so rediculously easy that it would be much cheaper than feeding Neons if you had your own tank of them set up.

Iam going to go with mosqito fish fry since i can get them for free. and to better see them hunt i will fill two corners of my tank with nice and tall plastic vals.

The reason for the plastic tank plants is that when t comes to indoor underwater plants i have a nak for killing them.
