What is the ugliest cichlid???

My Red Tiger, 10-10.5"(SL) aprox 1.5yrs old.
No way is this a ugly cichlid/fish.

that's a nice oscar, chile! reminds me of one my mom used to have way back in massachusets, except he was albimo.

That is probably the first Oscar that I liked. I normally would say that they are very ugly. I just don't like how they look, but Chilie, that is a nice one.

To really appreciate his markings you need to see the pic at full size...

Two Oscars, but different species of Oscar.

Juvenile Tiger Oscar, Astronotus ocellatus

Adult Striped Oscar aka Black Oscar, Astronotus crassipinnis

2003 Did it look like that as a juvenile? Or did it color up with age?

Most juveniles start off significantly different from their mature colors/markings. Colors/markings vary quite a bit according to habitat, mood, activity and ect.

Nice Oscer I like. I once had two oscer that look a little like that.
They got to big for my liking. NICE OSCER. :thud:
