What is this fuzz?

I was just checking out my tank this morning and noticed that this white 'fuzz' had grown on the suction caps for my heater. I'm not sure what it could be.

The suction caps should be black!

It's the only place I found it growing.

I think it may be calcium or salt. The same is on my heater suction cups.

Is it a bad thing? Should I try cleaning it off, or just leave it on there?

it looks like a protein/bacterial scum to me. such biodevelopment in a fishtank is perfectly normal it's not at all harmful but should easily wipe off it it bothers you.

yeah same it doesnt bother me, but now i know what it is..

Thanks so much! I was kind of worried there for a second that it was something bad. I wiped it all off yesterday.. I didn't like the look of it!
