hey all, i have a 3 foot marine tank with moray eels, a couple of damsels, and lots of live rock, when i was looking in it the other day i noticed to my suprise a intruder in my tank!! :P sticking its head up from under the shell grit was a little worm like creature, he is about 1 inch ( 25mm ) long, and was black with thin white stripes, one of my eels seemed fasinated by it, and sat there for 10 minutes watching it before it burrowed under the surface, so what i need to know is what is it, and is it harmfull to my tank??
cheers
scott

Welcome to Aquaria Central! You will finds wealths of info here. Is there any way you can post a pic of it? It is kind of hard based on the description but maybe someone will know. Anyway hope this helps and welcome to Aquaria Central!

thanks for the welcome :)
i have only seen it once, and didnt have a camera close by  but i did some searching last night on the net, and i think its a banded ribbon worm..... i think, i just dont know how it got there, i have never seen it in the 2 years the tank has been set up, and since the initial set up, i have only put fish in, not rock or coral
