What is this stuff?

The syphon is what and the air valve is what? What pic I mean?

The siphon is in pic #7. I'd keep that. It's a very handy tool. :thm:

When I plugged it in it vibrated, but I could see the motor spinning inside, soooo andyway to quiet it down?!?

Yah the siphon is in good condition but what does it do?

So like a water changer?@?

The filter parts go to an Aquaclear filter, a very reliable brand. I think the reason it is noisy is because you're supposed to fill it up until water spills out and then you turn it on. At first, it'll sound very noisy, but after about 10 seconds or so, it'll get dead silent.

Wow correctamoundo thx!

All of that stuff looks like it's for a 5 or 10 gallon tank. I have one of those cheap air pumps. It's a low PSI pump good for up to about a 10 gallon tank with one or two small airstones or decorations. I don't trust old heaters. If you need one get a new one. The filter is a keeper. I'd keep the air valves too. Depending on your air needs, if any, I'd save the air pump too and see if it'll fit the use. Throw out the old air lines. The syphon looks almost new... likely used once. keep it.

try not to run the filter out of water for very long..they can overheat.

the impeller without water could be quite noisy.(it'll rattle around)
pic 2 is an motor and impellar unit.
