Hey does anyone know what this is. I found some in my tank and this one in the back.

What is it?

dry or wet tank

if dry looks like some kinda cocoon if wet i have no idea

Yesterday I replaced the sponges in the back of my tank with live rock rubble and found a bunch of those in the sponges. At first I thought they were just clumps of old mysis or something but then realized it wasn't. I still have no clue what they are but I've had them in the back of my tank for a long time with no problems.

It is a bit difficult to confirm from the picture you provided, but when you said that you had a bunch in the sponge that you removed, I would almost be certain they are "pineapple sponges". They appear when the nutrients are high and are filter feeders, more a nuisance in their numbers but not becuase they are distructive. NOte the "Weird little White Thing" portion of the linked thread http://www.wetwebmedia.com/spgidf6.htm. Hope you find this useful.
