That is guppy grass (najas guadalupensis)
It grows super fast and it a little brittle which makes it kinda hard to get rid of if you dont want it since it tends to break up into pieces.

lol...i have some of that and i don't know where it came from either. it started as a little peice an inch long and i now have about eight stems at least 6 inches long.
