What is this?

Can anyone identify this brown worm like growth. It appears to be growing on its own and not part of the java fern. It's on my heater as well. Thanks!

Did you get in there and lay ahold of it? At first glance it looks like a root mass. Otherwise I have no idea. Grab ahold and let us know.

Nasty. Looks like worms or something, I've never seen anything like that before.

So how tall are u?

Yeah, They look like worms but I think they're some kind of root. I think that's kind of odd as well because nothing is growing from them. Just the brown worm like root. They don't seem to be a problem but it would be nice to know what the heck it is.

I'm 6'7"
