I've noticed brown spots on my silk plants.... and also on my inside walls of the tank... I was thinking algae.. but I don't know? When I brush the walls with the algae brush last night it all came off... but this morning there was more... and it looks like there is more and more growing, or more like appearing on the plants...

Any ideas on what it might be? Or how I can get rid of it?

Normal step in the process of cycling a tank. It usually shows up first in a new tank. As the cycle sets up and if all the parameters settle properly, it should clear up before too long.

You could get a couple of otocinclus to clean that up for you...or just wipe it off the tank and decorations as it shows up..until this stage passes.

Yeah thanks, I found out what it is... and I'll clean it up... umm, I would like to pick up a algae eating... but, which ones don't get very big?... and would be nice in a 70gallon?... Also, do they get along with all fish?

chinese algea eaters do great jobs. But if you're more into the whole pleco look, then go for a bushynose pleco, they dont get as big as all the others, they usually dont go over bout 6 inches. Corys and ottos do great as well. Just be sure theres an abundant amount of food, if not give them good quality algea tablets.

can cories be fed blanched spinach, lettuce, zucchini and cucumbers? Just curious. I'd rather not buy algae tabs if I don't have to.
