it kinda looks like my pleco, although the picture is a little blurry. mine is the same color with tons of white spots like that with a little white along the tip of the dorsal fin and the caudal fin. there are no "tentacles" on mine because it's a female. the females don't tend to grow the "tentacles" liek the males do.

not sure if there is a dwarf variety, but a regular BN will grow to about 4" long given a healthy diet. in addition to algae grazing they really like things like asparagus, zucchini and cucumbers. I keep mine in a 29 gallon tank.

I can try to provide a pic of mine if you think that would help. can't do it until tonight though.

IM not good with plecos. The only one I ever had was when I was 8 years old. A common in a 10 gallon that got 11 inches before I killed it to death. It looks to my ignorant eye to be a gold nugget. (again this is not something I know much about) Try looking through the "L" list at www.planetcatfish.com pleco species are defined by an "L" number EG: L056 since there are so many varieties, and species can be quite simmilar.

Looks like a young common to me.

It does look a lot like my Peppermint/ Midnight pleco L030- Parancistrus. But a lot of plecs have spots, Especially when young

Maybe a juvie Gold Nugget, or just a stressed out one, hiding his colors you think? Hard to tell in that pic...

If it is indeed a Gold Nugget, and I'm not saying it is, because it might not be, but if it is, and you got it for the price I suspect you paid, be happy. Be very happy.

A Gold Nugget will set you back $39.99 around these parts.

Havent seen too many different pleco species at petsmart I would say gold nugget. How much did you pay for it? I would go back and write down the common name on the card of the tank you got it from to be sure the pic is hard to see.

it was around $7 or $8 and was labeled as a dwarf bristlenose pleco
