This "thing" was attached on the inside of my new fry tank. Does anyone know what it is? I actually saw one of these things grab onto one of my new fry!
Any info. would be great, thx.
I saw one a couple days ago but noticed about 5 today, once I saw it grab the little guy, I quickly got rid of them.

lol, looks like a spider. look up external fish parasites on google. Thats the best help I can offer

Yep, definitely a hydra. Not too sure how to get rid of them without adding fish that actively eat them. Unfortunately, those same fish would probably eat your fry. Maybe someone else knows another way. I've never had to deal with them. You definitely don't want them in your fry tank, though. As you've already seen, they will catch and eat fry.

It's just weird that you have them in your tank. Did you introduce outside water into your tank at any time? Maybe poured some LFS water into a tank by accident? I'm just trying to think how they would be introduced. Can't imagine they'd be in tap water. Maybe well water? Weird.

edit: Duh....they could have come in with the plants.

looks like hydra to me. make sure there arent any more in the tank, especially since it is in a fry tank.

yeh, it seems to me that is the only thing that resembles it when I searched.
how could it get into the tank? The only thing I've introduced was brine shrimp.
could they of "hatched" with the shrimp?

Add a snail to the tank, they suck up hydra like popcorn. Or you can scrape them off with a credit card, but this does'nt always work as hydra can grow from fragments. I trippled my hydra problem by scraping, then put a snail in the tank and have'nt seen one since.

I haven't added anything to my tank in over 3 months??? The only water I add is from the tap , (dechlorinated of course).

Scraping and water changes, feed only what is necessary, they'll eventually clear up.

I've scraped them off and sucked them out. Will the fish in my main tank eat them?

What kind of snail is the best?
