my 2 mudskippers are mostly lazy and they rarely go after crickets they just dont try. so i thought because they are so lazy i could add a fiddler crab. the fiddler got onto the the highest branch in the tank. the smallest mudskipper comes up all reared up with fins and every thing up right when the fiddler raises his claw the mudskipper jumps like 6 inches into the air tackles the fiddler down rips his claw off and then smacks the claw into the bottom of the perch then eats the insides after the claw is broken into like 7 pieces. it was very gruesome. so i took the fiddler out of the tank

so this is the question
when the fiddler raised his claw did that trigger the attack or what i dont get what triggered it that crickets dont. and the fiddler is still alive..

i never new mudskippers could be so savage

Crabs are a mudskippers natural food. Very yummy. Definately should not be kept together. Go ahead and put the crab in another tank (brackish) His arem will grow back with a moult so don't worry. The mudskippers think crab is much better than cricket.
