After last molting, my rainbow crab has a weird extra thingy coming out from one side of his belly. Has anyone else seen something like this before? It doesn't seem to bother him but I'm just interestid what could it be. (I have had this crab for 3 years and he has molted 6 times.)

It's not very easy to tell it from the picture, but I'd suggest TRYING to softly remove this part. If it's not coming off easily, just wait a bit more time and try again. It's probably a remaining from the last molting process.

I would look up crab anatomy and make sure that is not a normal part. It looks like it is originating from underneath the "tail" of the crab (I have no idea what you call that). It looks like swimmeretts on a shrimp so crabs might have something similar under there to hold eggs in place.
