What is your bristlenose pleco's favorite foods?

I do slices of zucchini, then remove the skin when they're done with it. I also do leaves of spinach and frozen peas with the skin removed. (Don't let this dissuade you, you just squeeze 'em and they pop right out.)

I don't prep anything except to buy organic, then wash them off carefully (in case they're not as organic as you might wish.) Everything I've seen says they like them better when they're slightly steamed, but they eat them so well I don't bother.

I do a zucchini slice every other day, I'll increase that with the addition of two more dwarf BNs. I do the other veggies when that's what we have for dinner or when the spinach looks like it's on it's last legs.

I also alternate between Ken's Veggie Pellets and Hikari algae wafers based on which one I find first (my fish supply cabinet is a little packed.)

The zucchini never has a chance to foul my filter, but that's because my guppies love it too, so they clean up any bits that float. If you have other community fish in with your pleco, there's a good chance that'll happen with you too.

Of course, it's an overstocked guppy grow out tank, so they also get any leftover fish food on a regular basis. Enjoy your BN, they're great personalities!

I occaisonally buy a yam (or sweet potato), nuke it briefly (1-2 minutes) then slice up to distribute among several tanks. Any leftover is wrapped in plastic and stored in the fridge for a few days. When the slices float to the top I remove them.

Zucchini and cucumber, like most have said, with an algae wafer every few days. I boil the vegetables and then run them under cold water, only because it gets them to sink (don't know why, but it does).

I wouldn't know, he just hides all day and only comes out at night to feed on the algae on the sides of the glass. Even with that, he has a fat belly.

Mine love the yams,

but I peel, slice, steam, and then freeze mine

it make a terrible mess and so do the plecos with that orange silly string they leave strewen arouns the tank.
