what is your favorite tank?

Don't want to steer the thread off-topic here, but I just have to ask. RTR - what do you like about the 29 gal? Every day I find myself wishing I had bought a 30 gal. instead of my 29. I find it a difficult size to work with as far as aquascaping goes, due to the height/width ratio. I love my 40 BR however!

I like many different types of fish, and currently my two tanks are both mixed communities. My next project will be strictly a South American setup though....can't wait!
 
Aqualung- The 29's height to length ratio is great for planting, even though the depth is too shallow for fancy landscaping by me, it is great for schools of small fish. Currently I have one densely but simply planted, housing dwarf puffers (which don't school), otos, and shrimp, which is a favorite. The same tank size is also great for green-eyed Rasboras and such smallish fish which do school.
 
Right now I fancy a large S.American tank in the 120-150gal range.
I even know what fish I want, I'd stock it with my current Tiger Oscar and Snow King Pleco, to these I would add a school of a 5-10 (120 0r 150g?) Red Hook Silver Dollars.
Some plastic floating plants, large plastic swords and smaller plants (well anchored) in a fine-med gravel substrate, a few med-large rocks/cave and a awesome piece of wood (prefer a branch spanning atleast half the tank, bottom to top). Subdued lighting. Heavy duty filtration, including subtrate jets and a high flow pump with a large DIY coarse filter to stir & suck up all the major turds.

I love my africans too, however they are not supposed to be fed feeders. bad idea buddy.:mad:

Ditto. I was tired of seeing juvies come into breeding age and get ripped to bits the first time they showed their colors. I'm not sure about in the USA right now, but the Malawi market crashed here a while ago. Everyone is going S America or Tanganika. I dumped almost all my Tanganika and Malawi and am trying my hand at discus. I want a tank I can sit back and watch while I relax. Malawi=no relaxation.

You're supposed to give them feeders if you want to watch them get bloat and die a horrible death. :mad:
