has anyone here or does anyone here own a green puffer fish?,
Tetraodon nigroviridis.

so far it seems very intellegent and very good looking, so far hes one of my favorite additions to my tank, he really helps the look. anyone else know of these fish? what do you think, anything you know about them? im so glad i found this fish, hes awesome!!!

well actually for "starters" it can start out a freshwater fish and right now it is infact that, a freshwater fish

yes i do, god i asked for your opinions and to share your thoughts on the fish, not a lecture and yet i still have no answers

I think everyone's opinion here is that you should keep the fish in the proper conditions. My "thoughts" on the fish is that he prefers brackish water until he is an adult at which point he will prefer full marine water.

I am sure all of the GSPs at walmart will suffer the same fate though, so I don't suppose returning him will do much good.

Just read the care sheet that you linked. He will need snails to keep his teeth trimmed down or he will die of starvation because he wont be able to eat. Also, the rest of the fish in your tank are probably done for.

I own two. Their salinity is now full marine.

Some people state that some brackish fish can be kept in full fresh. This is usually a flat out lie, as many people have discovered at their expense, though the petstore which they got the advice at profited :/. Please keep in mind the potentially long life these fishies can have!
