]I bought four of these at the lfs, sold as ghost shrimp. I'm not so sure.
One of them is getting huge, another is catching up on it and two are still smallish.

They have way more color on them than I think a ghost shrimp has.
I'm going to post a pic and hope you can tell from the picture what this is exactly.

The lady at my lfs had another tank with something that looked like this that was as big as a man's thumb and she said, in her Slingblade voice, "You don't want one of those, uh huh, they'll eat yer fish fer sure."

Well... I think I got four of the killer shrimp. Help, please.

On the head there is a good bit or orange coloration and on the feet, the front feet (I don't know shrimp anatomical terms yet, lol) the little pinchers are colorful. There's a good bit of orange on the upper portion of the two front legs fading out down towards the pinchers, and then darker orange again where on might call the wrist. Then one pincher on each front leg is black and one is white. The flash on the camera washes out the colors, but they are definitely very much apparent in person.

On the head, two of the whiskers are black. There is the black or brownish-black streaking on the sides, and on the head a good bit of orange, too.

What the heck do I have?

Well, it's a Macrobrachium sp., that's a given... exactly which species, I don't know.

Will I have any problems, do you think? Right now they are in a 10 gallon with some ramshorns and 2 ADFs.

Whoa! Very cool for fish eat'n shrimp. Jinks will know what they are!

Whisker shrimp? It says that they breed in captivity!

i would guess a less common, more distinct feeder that got picked up with the typical clear ones, either way that thing is a great find and it looks incredible!

Most Macrobrachium don't make tankmates because they'll predate on seemingly anything.. their claws are pretty powerful to boot.

The big one looks very intimidating... The claws look pretty awesome. So far I haven't seen them being mean to any of the other inhabitants, but I can foresee some problems as these guys get even bigger.

Anyone want some monster shrimp?

The big one looks like she? is getting ready to be berried. In the head area I see these little luminescent green egg looking things that weren't there before.
