What kiind of shrimp is this?

:eek3:that is a huge shrimp!!!
i say have the others "disappear" and keep one in a specimen tank.it would be interesting to have a huge shrimp in the livingroom.

OMG!!!:thud:

What am I going to do... oh dear.... I presently have a 10 gallon (that the snails, frogs, and new monster shrimp are in) that I was going to turn into a QT/hospital.... and a 20 gallon regular that someone gave me that I was going to move the ramshorns, and the shrimp into, and maybe the frogs, too.

I hadn't decided if the ADFs should stay with the snails and go into the 20 or go in the 40 gallon. I knew ghost shrimp would be OK in either tank, but now with these new guys... I guess they need to be by themselves in their own tank, sigh....

I have pics of the new 40 gallon breeder tank that I want to post. It is in the early stage of arranging. It is cycled and has play sand... some manzanita that Jackiomy gave me, one Brochis, two Otos, and bunch of ramshorns.

I just haven't been able to find the time to post a thread and upload pics of my new tank build. My husband just went through some huge surgery and I've had a lot going on, but I want to start a thread and get suggestions from AC members on arranging the driftwood, plant choices, and stocking.

I'll upload pics as soon as I can, but for now... what should I do with these jumbo shrimp, other than firing up the barbee.

Any suggestions?

I want to try to take a really sharp close-up of the biggest one of these shrimp. He is really amazing looking.

these are called freshwater prawn they will grow about 10inch long and eat everything on their way. LFS sell them to feed fish

They are growing at an incredible rate. I'm going to post more pics of the biggest one in a new thread on this forum.

They will eat the snails in your tank if given the chance.

That's what I've been thinking. I know for sure they have cleaned the glass of all baby snails and egg clusters. I just posted a thread showing more pics... check it out.
