Thanks for the input guys! I am really aggravated that the moron at the store gave me the wrong fish... It does eat the algae (although so do my mollies) but it is a major bully - doesn't nip anybody but chases them all around. I haven't seen it go after the cories at all but I'm guessing it is only a matter of time. I think I might see if I can return it :-(
