What kind of bacteria are in "Stress Zyme"?

It dont say,,they are supposed to be "beneficial"and remove NH3 and NO2, so i guess they must be Nitrospira, Nitrobacter, and nitrosomas. Many people say its crap but for me it surprisingly worked! A miracle. oh well its one of those mystery products i guess...

he means that its dead because the aerobic bacteria need air so if they dont have air in the bottle they will die. But like i say it worked in my experiace with it. If you have the extra $$$ id just get Bio-spira

Stress Zyme is about all I find.

I've heard it's not useful but I was just wondering why.

it never hurts to try ,here are my experiances in the past

Hagen Cycle: didnt work
seachem Stability:works but is not too efective
Aqua. Pharm Stress-Zyme: i was IMPRESSED for me its not crap if it has not been in the shelf too long.
Bio-Spira:I was speachless..Perfect product when handled properly

I had no luck with stress zyme. maybe I should dig out my microscope and do a culture sometime. Unless there are any nitritfying bacteria known that can exist in a spore (dormant, like the anthrax in the envelopes) form, then dead crap has to be what it is. Unless the bottle comes with a food supply (sugars? ) and an oxygen supply ( potasium nitrate? that oxy clean stuff? something else?) that is sufficent for the 5 years of shelf life the date claims. hmm doubtful.

Bacteria eat all avalable food and gain equilibrium in about 4-5 weeks (IE cycling your tank normally) to do that in a little bottle ..24 hrs ..tops?

hmm **** now i have to dig out my microscope .. you and your questions ;) j/k

Please look at it under your microscope!

If I could find my dad's scope I'd do it.
