What kind of fish did I buy????

You might want to look into dojo loaches. They've got an eel like appearance, not picky eaters and have lots of fishonality.

It's funny you mention that particular fish....we saw some and were gonna get those when my son saw the dragon gobys and we went with those instead..do you know much about them...we have a rocky substrate with an undergravel filtration....is that ok for those fish?

Loaches do like to dig around but gravel will be fine as long as it isn't sharp gravel. The standard rounded stones will be fine. Make sure there is a hiding spot for him (behind a plant, in a tube) as they do like to hide a bit. And generally loaches do like friends. Khulie will do fine in your tank as well and since they are smaller can be kept in a larger group which is good.

Hi mcdeali,
I've got a tank with regular sized smooth gravel and my 4 very small kuhlis seem to have no trouble getting underneath it to hide in the plastic plant bases. They've got spots where they regularly hide in the gravel and leave just their heads poking out. As long as your gravel isn't sharp and there are no large gaps where your loaches could crawl under the UGF and not be able to get out again, I'm sure your tank would make a great home for loaches. In my opinion they're very fun fish to have, and like other loaches they react to swings in barometric pressure; if you pay attention to your loaches' behaviour you'll know it's going to rain before the weather man does!

Thanks for that info...will keep that in mind when I finally get the tank right. I was looking at the loaches but bought other fish instead...i'm sorry for that now.
