what kind of pumps do you guys use? right now im using laguna pumps which is ok but loses power fast as the head height increses. i have rio pumps for the aquarium would they work ok in ponds? their quality dosent seem good enough for all the algae and stuff they might encounter but 2 rio 2100s looks good only 25 watts each and they pump 600GPH at 2 feet. but i just saw a site selling nautilus pumps a nautilus 30 pump is good for 1100 GPH at 3 feet. it uses only 70 watts and has a 3 year warranty. any brands that are recommended. not sure how big the pond is going to be but imma need 1000-1500 gph at 2-3 feet. Power usage is important since this going to be for a 3rd pond and its going to accompany about 3000 gph worth of pumps in the house. john

I use a sequence pump. I've had it for about 3 years now it it works great. very quiet, doesn't use too much AC and very good flow. I have the 4000SEQ19, but all of the pumps in the 1000 series are rated pretty good. Here is a chart for the 1000 series, and here is one for the 750 series. of course they do use more power that 70 watts and are inline meaning they are not submersable.

are you looking for an inline or submersible pump?

Good question.... I'm not sure what we have, as it was a kit and I didn't really pay attention to the brand of pump. I would now if I had to re-do the 'water garden'....

most likely submersible it would probably be easier for me. saw your link RJL. those are nice pumps i would get one if i was going to have some bigger or have a huge waterfall, and they dont use too much power for its performace too. -john
