What kind of rocks are these?

But how far away were those beaches from each other when the sandstones were laid down?

6,995? :grinyes:

Don't think California and NZ where ever that close, Australia and Antarctica maybe...

But how they were laid down would have been the same.

Can't say that I know the exact origin they came from but what I do know is where they are going...Shellie tank :) Thanks for the help guys!

:woot: They are REALLY AWESOME looking!! You don't find stuff like that in Lake Ontario, :evil_lol:

This is what I found, i'm pretty sure this is what they are:

Holey Stone aka Odin Stone - Usually a soft stone with naturally occurring holes, that were produced by erosion, wind, wave action and/or sea creatures, not man made! The holes in the stones were created by the Earth Mother herself and all are one of a kind. These stones were hand picked, on a beach in Northern California and still smell of the sea! Some of them still have the shells from the sea creatures that made the holes. - They are stones of protection and strengthening of mind. They can also help enhance psychic abilities. They are helpful in preventing nightmares when hung or placed by the bed. Hanging one near where a pet sleeps helps guard it as well. When hung or placed in homes or vehicles they offer protection from harm for all who reside or travel within. When placed on an Altar they offer a perfect vessel for creating a link to the Earth Mother and her water spirits. They have also been used to help rid the body of dis-ease by drawing it out and absorbing it. After being used for healing please cleanse the stones before using them again.

Lots of superstition surrounding them also i see lol

From that description, I fully expect your next trip to net you at least one w/ some purple string in one of the holes!

I'm expecting some magical powers at the very least

Here are some pictures after the rocks have been prepped and put into the tank. I only put a few in there and in no particular arrangement..just playing around with them for now. Excuse the non background, it will eventually probably be white or possibly green.
