Adjust the temp at the tub faucet, sit a five-gallon bucket underneath till it's about two-thirds full, remove it, sit another one under, go dump the first one in the tank, by the time I get back to the tub, the next bucket's ready to go.

My water comes from a well in the back yard.

i used to do the same... you should really look into one of these.... they are godly! :bowing:

I would strongly encourage people to not use warm water from the tap or any other water that could potentially come out of the water heater. The inside of a water heater is disgusting with many disolved minerals. So run cold water only to fill up your tank. If you are concerned about the temp age it and heat it.

Hmm, if we are worried about dissolved minerals in the water tank, wouldnt the inherent problem be that these dissolved minerals are in the water in the first place?

It would seem to me, that if they are accumulating in the water heater, then there would be less in the hot water supply rather than more. Water heaters cant create dissolved minerals...

Been doing the bucket brigade for years, my wife is pregnant again and when I'm on the road (I'm a longhaul trucker) she does all the maintenance :bowing: , well out of concern for her carrying buckets, bending over and etc....
I ordered a 50' Python from Big Al's last week, only $34.99, good deal compared to alot of other on-line retailers and the LFS ;)
We will fill from the tap with the temp adjusted and add pre-mixed/diluted dechlorinator as the tank fills.
