ok ok newbie here....
i got this tank for christmas im pretty sure its a 41,42 gallon tank. my friend is giving my 6baby covcts... waht other fish could i get formy tank and would tri colored sharks work?

If you get more cichlids try to stay with the same region at first. cons are s. americans. they would do good with Jacks or firemouths. You might want to get some less agressive fish to even out your tank. There are many choices, I like to make sure they are bigger than the cichlids so they don't become expensive feeders these can be simple guppies, danios rainbows etc. I've heard of a bi-color shark, also known as red-tail or rainbow. they are nuetral ph(same as your cons) and of similar diet and temps. so it would be ok. if you are thinking of other fish to add, use the spec. profile and compair temperment, ph, temp. feeding etc. And the best advice I can give is to wait for a few different oppinions before making your choice. enjoy
