What made you choose your screen name?

I've been tinkering with/fixing/building/modifying computers and electronics all my life. I had a few friends back in the day that use to call me "Tech", which turned into "Tek" because when you're younger, you want everything to look cooler when you write it. Apparently I thought a K was cooler than a CH. :silly: I've been a gamer all my life as well, so I quickly adapted it to be my name in pretty much every game I play. However, most of the time the simple name "Tek" is taken already... So I added on a bit to make it sound like a fantasy-style name. Wow... I don't think I've ever described myself in such a geeky paragraph... thanks for that. :headshake2:

I'm a professional dog groomer.

Hahhahaa, I think that's really funny for some reason...

I got mine from when I used to be a part of albinoblacksheep.
I was thinking of a name that nobody would have, and I thought of my favorite color, and something random (I was sitting in a room). A lot of people think I get the name from the books, but I've never read, nor heard of them until I made up my name :]

"Betta" for the fish i first started keeping.
"Fish"..... duh! lol.
"Mommy" because i'm a mom to my kidlett and my finkids.

but y'all can call me BFM.

Background Info: I have a prosthetic right arm.

ok, mine is a little strange. I went to a tech college (RIT) and was setting up a LAN in my room. For those of you in the dark, LAN is basically a computer network. Anyways, I bought a wireless router and had to give it a name (the name you see when trying to connect to a wireless network). A buddy of mine walked in as I was pondering and immediately suggested "CLAWLAN". The rest is history...

well... when is was 10 I wanted to have something like 1o as I liked the number 10... then I found that 1o was taken so I tried 1op p because p was next to o... then I tried 1oop, 1ooop, and came to 1oooop :D

An embarrassing side-effect from the meds I have to take.

Besides, I think it sounds better than to be called "FartBlossom" and I had no desire to use the nickname I was given many years ago "Jeffro".

"FartBlossom" is kinda cute! ;)

I was overseas volunteering in Kenjari when I came across this old wounded man on the ground- he had obviously been beaten quite badly.

He was an impoverished farmer and had refused to let the local drug lord take his daughter- his son tried to rescue the daughter but was never seen again- so he himself went to plead for the life of his children- they beat him and left him for dead on the road.

When I found him he was hours from death, he actually died as I tried to save him- he asked that his meagre possessions go to help the poor and that I place honour for his children. I gave myself the nickname, Wycco on this forum after his son of the same name...

... no, not really, but it made for a touching story didn't it? Much more interesting than the truth! I've never done anything so noble as to help out in another country in my life.

Truth is- Wycco is just my child-hood nickname because no one could pronounce my real first name. I had other nicknames as a child too- but some were not complimentary in the least.
