I have XP on this one, will have 7/64 and some version of Linux dual boot on my new system when it's put together. Waiting for a new cpu now, the first one was DOA...

Ya, set me back by another week (return DOA cpu/wait for replacement to arrive) to get my new system running. It was an Athlon II triple core, makes me wonder if I should have gone with Intel instead.
what motherboard did you go with? if it has an SB710 chipset or higher, you can unlock that 4th core 
The motherboard is an Asus M4A785-M. It will unlock a 4th core, but 3 cores are enough for me for a few years. When the games are built on 4 cores instead of 2 I'll upgrade to a 6 core cpu. By then the price will be lower anyway...
MAC FTW! Made my computer from scratch and it's a fricken machine. 12 core processing, 16 gig ram, liquid cooling, 27" screen, and 3 graphics cards all built into a Mac pro case.
