what options do i have with a 20long?

so im new with cichlids...well i did have some for a few months but that wasnt a good idea (poor choice) anyways i was thinking of a cichlid tank. but i would want it to be pretty colorful with a decent amount of fish...well not being over stocked. iv been back and forth of making this into a community tank or cichlid tank. any stocking suggestions would really help.

For a 20 long you are a little limited. I would think a pair of dwarf cichlids would do well and you could still have the community tank as well. I would look into rams or apistos. They have lots of color and aren't super aggressive.

i heard maybe convicts might work in a community tank?

If the convicts are breeding you won't be able to keep anything else in there.

I think N multis would be a good choice. I started off with a few in a 30 gallon breeder and now have 40 to 50. Given plenty of shells they should breed like rabbits for you.
