What other model skimmers I can look at that's only 24" in height

How wide is your sump? How tall is the water level in it? I'm thinking you could run two of the 20" AquaC's.

Grins, I know that there are many great skimmers out there and I need to get the best I think is right or at lease that I feel good about it.

Riverserver, I no plans period to run two skimmers for if I wanted a junky looking tank altogether, I not spend as much as what I did. I told the person who was doing these tanks that after when he puts in the type of sump he did that I in no way want 2-3 skimmers to do the job as one would.

The skimmer type in the link, even that it be 24" in height, after cutting through the top panel under the tank, above the sump, it would have no difficulties to fit nicely.

Before both jobs are done over, I will take pictures of before and after, and then all you can judge for yourself. :)

Deltec Turbo 1060S

Capacity:
Normal Stocking: 530g
Heavy Stocking: 400g

Price: $1,651.00

The price makes this skimmer sound like its great, but I not know to how I would feel to spend on such a different type of skimmer, least of all in appearances.

I seen others which are high in cost and are HOB skimmers, this I not wasted time viewing due to HOB items :headshake2:

On the Tunze DOC skimmer, the price isnt bad, but im not sure to if I be willing in trying that type of skimmer out :(

Understood. I got a great deal on my Tunze and saw it in action before I bought it. The Deltec is supposed to be fabulous but cha ching as well. Have you investigated the Euro-reefs? Are they too tall?

Although AC is great you might want to lurk over at RC in their large tank forum. You might find some additional ideas for what others with big tanks have tried successfully.

Up and until now, I used nothing but the euroreef, I one on the eel tanks of the type of design model that runs no matter what and the euro reef model that opens with a full twist off to clean the skimmer cup are acting funning like for each time there be a slight power flicker for even a second, the pumps on the type of model not restart again without my helping it and being that im more busy with my family, I cannot be here every time when that happens and I need to feel secured about the skimmer in place. And I thin k I will do just that, look in RC at larger reef tanks with the AC.

Grins, I do however or would like to find other skimmers that could handle the system as well and not cost as much, like maybe just around $1,000 for the skimmer on buying it will run me near to $2,000 I think with tax and delivery>

Im trying to look now in the:
ETSS
HSA skimmer
AquaC Protein Skimmer
beckett skimmer?
Precision Marine Bullet skimmer

IM sure that there be some other models I might look over, I not know them all so lets see if anybody could name a few>

I called Champion lighting and ask them of which skimmers they are carrying that are 24" or less in height for a water volume of 400+ gals and the person I spoken to tells me only the Tunze DOC Skimmer and the largest of them they carry is the Tunze DOC Skimmer 9020

Now I tell him that I am very concern on its functions for the long term for the tank that in the short term of the 240, it will only be dealing with a very low bio load of some fish and polyps, zoas and ric corals until the tank ages seven months. Even still, I am still seeing myself in need to get the near $2,000 skimmer for I want the best I can get for this tank for those skimmer cups on the Tunze DOC Skimmer looks as they are not more then 4" in width, and that is what makes me more concern of the success I might have with it.

Now this skimmer has been around for about 1 to 1.5 years I was told and I not see with that in how I can take the risk of trying this product.

I was last night looking around, typing in search all kinds of skimmers and not came up with anything better then the skimmer link I posted in this thread.

Now I do have time here, I will do the lights first giving me the extra time to find some other skimmer that I might choose from for if im to get the $2,000 skimmer, it would take me 2 to 2.5 months to get the money together just for this one item making it take just a bit longer to get the tanks ready.

But in the long term of this if I kept waiting for some person to do this, I not know if I would be enjoying these tanks before the 5th anniversary of waiting, LMBO of waiting for Jeff to do this.

But at least I would know that the tanks will begin at a certain time period, once I know what my new full cost will be. :headbang2:
