What plants would be good in here.

With it being small I don't think you need plants. Anything big will just crowd it all up and anything small might just get the pump all gummed up.
 
Thanks for the opinion. You have a valid point on the gumming up the filter.
 
Perhaps if you didn't care to see the water surface then I would go with something like water lettuce or salvinia. They are large and surface plants. You would have to inspect the water level occasionally as the whole surface woudl quickly be covered.

Persoanlly I would go with plants around the edge of the water instead, maybe even some ferns would look nice.
