Hello, I am just wondering what type of plants might be good for my tank setup. I have heard they are better for my fish and will help keep the water levels alittle better. I am new to the fish hobby and am looking for something that is not real hard to take care of but isn't just plain. I want to make sure my fish will be happy with the plants. My plan is to take out most of the fake plants I have and replace them with real ones. I will still leave a couple fake one in just for show. I have about 3 inches of normal sized tank gravel if this matters. I will also be turning my UGF into a RUGF within the next month so I need something that can handle that also. I would like 2 small, 2 meduim and 1 large height plants. Any ideas would be great. You can see what is in my tank by using the below link. Thanks.

I also need to make sure the plants I put in are for a tank. I bought a plant awhile back and it seems to be dieing. I have found out that is wasn't really an underwater type plant.

Well aquatic plants kinda depend on how much light, and how much fertilizers, and CO2 you are/will be injecting. But I'm guessing you want the lowest tech possible.

So I suggest anubias, crypts, and java fern and mosses. You can check out a good description of the the plants that will fit your setup at APC's

or Plantgeek's plant guide.
