Well theres a sale on fosters and smiths so i will probably take advantage and get my powerheads.

20 gallon tall
2 O. Clownfish
Mushrooms, Button polyps, Frogspawn
70 watt MH light
AquaC protein skimmer

How much flow am i aiming for? No wavemaker probably.

Oh and the aquaC comes with a pump to pump water in the skimmer, would i count this as flow?

I was thinking either 2 maxi-jet 1200 or 2 maxi-jet 900, the power sweep doesnt seem so bad either.

well i would want the best, so i will probably aim for 20x turnover rate (if you think that is the best), 2 maxijet 1200 should cover this.

whats the benefit of a good turnover rate? Higher oxygen levels, good way to bring small particles of food to filter feeders, anything else? Better mechanical filtration for live rock, less chance of bacteria/algae.

yes but u can also have to much power in there as well it all depends on the individual tank..i just realized mine wasnt enough so i bought better pumps...ull have to gauge it.

ok i ordered a maxi-jet 1200 online today. Just one, also got a 160 gallon mix of reef crystal salt, 30 pounds of aragonite sand (not live, sugar grade, i think it was 0.6-1.0 mm or something....) bio-balls (dont worry wont use the bio-balls for the saltwater) and some dog treats, for dogs not fish :D

ok i got it, it came today, im impressed, i tried it out on my freshwater tank, its very simple, plug and play. I also like how the flow works, evenly distributed rather than all in one spot. One question, should i use it with the venturi attatchment or without?
