What protine skimmer do i need?

The watts per gallon is outdated in my opinion but I do think you'll like the MHs, I love mine although the electric bill definitely went up due to the tank. On the skimmer I'm a bit confused...are you wishing to run the filter through the skimmer and then back to the tank? Can you make a rough sketch of what you're thinking if so?

I was under the impression that i could run the filter into the skimmer then back into the tank. Does this make any sense at all? Or did I just waste a bunch of money on my filter.

I don't know of anyone that does that. Doesn't mean it isn't possible.

If I understand you so far you currently have a :
65g tank
(2) MHs 170 watt
Eheim canister

And have been advised or are thinking of getting:
Live rock
UV sterilizer
skimmer

If that is correct I'd get 65-100#s of live rock. If the Eheim is new you can return it or set it aside for when you want to run carbon in the tank. Although I think a skimmer is very wise for a 65g reef, if you are on a limited start up budget I'd suggest spending the money on a sump/fuge with overflow box and return pump and save up for a skimmer. This will be expandable and the skimmer can be housed in it later.
