Right now I have a 40 gall with a male and female convict, and two pictus cats.
My male convict chases my female a lot, I've tried rearranging the tank and making more hiding places, and turning the temp down to about 72-74 degrees. He still chases her, what should I do? I am considering getting another female convict and another pictus to distract him possibly, but would that be to crowded? Any suggestions. :idea2:

Don't add another kittyfish. if the vics mate the kittys will cause problems for the new family, or become lunch, depending on thier size. i tried the flower pot thing w/ my jewels but they just laid out in the open. keep an eye out for a patch of eggs, about 1/2 mm to 1mm translucent balls in a patch 1/2 in to 3 in. The female will most likely be guarding it w/ her life and "fanning" the nest w/ her fins. After a while if you look hard you'll see 2 little black dots inside. those are cute little baby fishie eyes
