I just got rid of my fish. When I lifted up a rock to get my rope fish out of it, this red foggy stuff came out. Now my tank is half empty and there are these little red things swimming in the water. They are staying around the surface and mostly in the corner of the tank. They are very small and there are a lot. Whatever they are, they were living in the rock with my rope fish. What the heck are they?

maybe theyre :joe: (insert Twighlight Zone music here)

alright, sorry, i know this is a complete waste of a post, couldn't resist :D

i have no clue what they are, and i've never heard of something like this happening before

I'm thinking maybe blood worms but what gets me is bloodworms usually stay close to the gravel. Too bad you got rid of your fish, sounds like you have some good snacks left behind.

How long are they? Is it possible ropefish fry? never heard of them breeding in a tank (wishful thinking maybe) More then likely blood worms but anythings possible.
