dont buy fish or shrimp to eat a small lil tidbit of fungus. it might not even eat it. and when it does. what else are you going to feed it?

it looks like it is growing fungus and you should just throw it out.

Is the bulb squishy? If it feels like a soggy grape don't squeeze it cause your fingers will stink... and if it is squishy its dead.

theyre not aquishy, they're pretty firm and one of them has sprouts coming out already.

Take them out and leave them in a small tank or cut a liter of coke and place them outside were they get direct sun light. Sometimes I put some snail's in there to, the usually eat trough the bad part's of the bulb. Sometimes it takes time until you get a nice plant however once you get them sprouting they don’t stop. They are a great center of attraction.
If its fungus cut the half of the bulb do it if you see that the half here its growing is ok. I have done this in a old one that a had an the top part is doing a steady production a leaves.
