Your mandarin is likely not to survive long. I'd suggest bringing it back to the LFS and get something else. They require live copepods to survive long term and a ready supply is only available in a tank with live rock. A common scooter blenny would be a good choice for a replacement. Not a red scooter though. They have the same requirements as mandarins.
