What to do when plants turn brown?

I don't really have a planted tank - more of a tank with plants.

I notice that my plants, even newly added ones, develop brown tips and often the brown creeps up the whole leaf. In some plants, it pretty much destroys leaves but in others (e.g. the grass), it just affects the tips.

Of the plants I actually know the names of, I have: narrow leaf chain sword, red flame sword, moneywort and river grass.

Actually, the moneywort doesn't turn brown but the leaves just fall off one by one.

I used flourish tablets last week and have started using flourish excel hoping to improve things (the browns were happening before the excel and tablets).

Can anyone give me a recommendation on how to reduce the browning?

Thank you!

P.S. It's a 100 gallon tank with T? lighting that I run a total of 6 hours per day (3 in the AM, 3 in the PM).

What wattage is the lights? If you dont have algea issues I would start increasing the amount of time the lights are on and look into more ferts and maybe CO2 depending on plants.

I think the t? is important to get a specific #. T8? T5? 6 hours is a short photo period, split even.

How long has your tank been set up?
How long have the plants been in?

Photos of the plants & the algae would be helpful.

The Flourish tablets should be inserted under your substrate to help root feeders like your sword (big & dwarf chain). Excel is a carbon source (versus Flourish Comprehensive which is Flourish's liquid fertilizer normally dosed into the water column).

I believe it's T5. The light is very white. Not sure how to get more info on what I have.

The tank has been up for about 2 months. Some of the plants were transferred from a previous tank, the bulk of them are 1-2 months old.

Done... throughout the tank.

That's where I'm stuck. I'm not sure what else I am supposed to be using along with the tabs.

Here's a photo of the plant in the corner that exhibits the worst of the problem.

This is a photo of some of the other plants. The exposure doesn't show it but the leafy plant in the center is also developing the brown leaves. The tips of the grass are turning brown.

Thanks for any and all advice! Particularly interested in whether or not I should be using any other fertilizers.
