What to do with 5 gallon tank

If you go with artificial plants go with silk not plastic. I have a silk plant and a treasure chest decoration and a decoration that looks like coral and sea shells. See the pic in my avatar that is my 5g with my betta I just changed out the pink silk plant and replaced it with a green and fucia colored silk plant. I have a 5g minibow with whisper filter. I try not to clutter the tank with too many decorations to give the betta room to swim.
 
I have a 5 gal eclipse hex with a dwarf puffer, cherry shrimp and about 100 snails. You should definitely try putting some live plants like a Java fern or some Java moss. The natural colors of live plants really look sharp.
